Bathroom Vanities In Gosford

Bathroom Vanities Experts

Custom kitchens, wardrobes and joinery for the Central Coast - designed, built and installed with over 12 years of local experience

A bathroom vanity has to look the part and cope with a wet, humid room every day, which is exactly why a made-to-measure unit beats a boxed one on the Central Coast. We design and build vanities to suit your bathroom or ensuite, whether that is a floating wall-hung unit for a small Woy Woy renovation or a double-basin vanity for a Terrigal family home. Carcasses are built from HMR (moisture-resistant) board that stands up better to splashes and steam, paired with soft-close drawers and doors. You choose the door finish, handles, basin and benchtop material, and Steve Smith and our team measure, build and install the lot. The result fits your walls and plumbing precisely, with no filler panels or awkward gaps left over.

Vanity styles we build

Every bathroom is a different size and shape, so we build vanities to match rather than forcing a standard cabinet into the space. Wall-hung floating vanities free up floor area and suit smaller ensuites and powder rooms, while floor-standing units give you more storage in a main bathroom. We make single and double-basin vanities, tallboys and mirror cabinets to match, and shaving cabinets recessed into the wall where there is room. Drawer-based vanities keep everyday items easy to reach, and we can work around wall-hung pans, in-wall cisterns and existing plumbing. Finishes range from a clean matte laminate through to timber-look or a painted 2-pac door for a higher-end look. Whatever the layout, the unit is drawn up around your actual walls and fittings.

How we build your vanity

Bathrooms are the most demanding room in the house for cabinetry, so material choice matters. We build vanity carcasses from HMR (moisture-resistant) board, which copes with the splashes, steam and humidity of a coastal bathroom far better than standard board, though no timber product is truly waterproof, so good sealing and ventilation still count. Doors and drawer fronts can be laminate, timber veneer or a sprayed 2-pac finish depending on your budget and look. We fit soft-close hinges and runners as standard, the kind of quality hardware brands like Blum and Hettich are known for, so drawers glide and doors close quietly. For benchtops we offer compliant options such as natural stone, porcelain, solid timber or laminate, never engineered stone. Our own team handles the install, scribing the unit to the wall and connecting neatly around the plumbing.

Why Central Coast homeowners choose us

Steve Smith has spent more than twelve years building cabinetry across the Central Coast, so we know what a bathroom here has to put up with. You deal with the person measuring and building your vanity, not a call centre, and every quote is fixed and itemised so you can see what you are paying for. The measure and quote is free and there is no pressure to proceed. We are fully insured with $20 million public liability, and we stand behind our workmanship, with manufacturer warranties covering the hardware and materials. Because we build to order, we can match a vanity to an unusual wall length or an awkward corner that a boxed unit would never fit.

What a custom vanity costs

As a rough guide, a made-to-measure vanity typically runs from around $2,000 to $6,000, though the final figure depends on size, door finish, benchtop material, basin choice and hardware. A compact wall-hung laminate unit sits at the lower end, while a large double-basin vanity with a stone top and 2-pac doors sits higher. Because the price moves with the choices you make, we give you a fixed, itemised quote after measuring so there are no vague estimates. If you are working to a budget, we can suggest where to spend and where to save, for instance a laminate door with a stone top, or the reverse. Benchtops in natural stone are usually supplied through a licensed stonemason and quoted accordingly.

Custom vanity vs flat-pack

A flat-pack vanity from a Sydney store can look fine in the showroom, but it comes in fixed sizes, a limited finish range and a box you assemble yourself. On the Central Coast that also means a drive down the M1 to Tempe or Rhodes and back, then hoping the module suits your plumbing. A custom vanity is built to your exact wall length and basin position, in a finish and benchtop you choose, and installed by the people who made it. If something needs adjusting later, there is someone local to call rather than a flat-pack returns desk an hour away. For an older bathroom with out-of-square walls, made-to-measure is usually the only way to get a clean, gap-free fit.

The Process

3 Step Process For Your Bathroom Vanities Needs

Free Measure, Quote and Design

It starts with a free in-home visit anywhere on the Central Coast. Steve measures your space accurately, listens to how you want to use it and talks through layout, materials and finishes that suit your home and budget. You then receive a fixed, itemised quote and an agreed design, so you know exactly what is being built and what it costs before you commit.

Built in Our Local Workshop

Once the design is signed off, your cabinetry is made to measure in our workshop here on the Coast. We cut and assemble to your exact dimensions, using moisture-resistant board for wet areas, quality soft-close hardware and the finishes you have chosen. Building locally means we can keep a close eye on quality and adjust for the real quirks of your room rather than a standard template.

Professional Install by Our Team

Our own team delivers and installs your cabinetry, fitting, levelling and adjusting everything on site for a clean, square finish. We work tidily, protect your home while we go and check every door, drawer and soft-close before we leave. Because we handle the install ourselves, there is one team accountable for the result from first measure to final fit.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Everything you need to know about our Bathroom Vanities In Gosford

Is a custom vanity suitable for a humid coastal bathroom?

Yes, and it is one of the main reasons to go custom on the Central Coast. We build vanity carcasses from HMR (moisture-resistant) board, which handles the steam and humidity of a bathroom near the coast better than standard board, and we fit hardware suited to the environment. No cabinet is fully waterproof, so we still recommend good ventilation and sealing, but a well-built vanity in the right materials will hold up well in a Terrigal or Umina Beach bathroom.

Can you build a vanity to fit a small or awkward ensuite?

That is exactly where made-to-measure earns its keep. We build wall-hung floating vanities and slimline units that suit tight ensuites and powder rooms in older Woy Woy and Gosford homes. Because the cabinet is drawn around your actual walls and plumbing, we can work around a wall-hung pan, an odd corner or a short wall that no standard flat-pack size would fit.

What benchtop options do you offer for vanities?

We offer compliant benchtop materials including natural stone such as granite or marble, porcelain or sintered stone, solid timber and laminate. We do not supply or install engineered (reconstituted) stone, as its manufacture and installation has been banned nationally since July 2024 due to the silicosis risk. Natural stone tops are usually supplied through a licensed stonemason, and we will talk you through the trade-offs in cost, look and upkeep.

Do you handle the removal of our old vanity and the install?

Yes, our own team manages the install, and we can remove and dispose of the old unit as part of the job. We scribe the new vanity to the wall and set it neatly around the plumbing, then hand back to your plumber for the final connection of taps and waste. We will confirm exactly what is included in your fixed, itemised quote before we start.

How long does a custom vanity take?

Most vanities are built and installed within a few weeks of you approving the design and finishes, though the exact lead time depends on our current workload and the materials you choose. Stone benchtops and speciality finishes can add a little time. We give you a realistic timeframe when we quote, rather than a promise we cannot keep, and we keep you updated as your build progresses.

Can you match a new vanity to our existing bathroom or kitchen?

In most cases, yes. We can match door finishes, handles and timber tones to tie a new vanity in with the rest of your bathroom or a recent kitchen renovation. Bring us a sample, a photo or the details of the existing finish and we will get as close as the available materials allow. It is a common request on established-home renovations around East Gosford and Wyong where owners update one room at a time.
